The Global Community project is an established project facilitating a culture and sports platform for people of all nationalities, backgrounds and cultures. It encourages people to come together to create a community where values are shared with respect and understanding.
Stockholm, like any large multicultural city, experiences serious social issues like racism, segregation, isolation and loneliness. It is for this reason that the Global Community League was started.
The project activities enables the community members to connect through their culture,hobbies and talents.
The project has now been developed with more activities like seminars and cultural events Children games and entertainment are also available for children. We have seen over 20 nationalities, organizations and churches participate in this league, and in 2008, a womens' activity was started to widen participation.
We believe people are able to live together in unity, as long as they have things in common. So we provide activities that encourage them to communicate and find common ground while embracing diversity.
